Montrose at a Glance
Montrose, a city located on the western slope of Colorado's
Rocky Mountains, is a destination sought-after for its mild summers and winters
and its numerous recreational opportunities. Visitors can hike, camp or enjoy
boating and fishing in the Black
Canyon National Park and the Curecanti
National Recreation Area. In addition to the scenic mountains, rich wildlife
and exceptional lakes and mesas at these parks, the Curceanti National Recreation
Area features the Cimarron
Railroad Exhibits, boasting a restored 1882 locomotive called Locomotive 278.
